Job Title: Director of Engineering

Minimum Education: Bachelors in Civil Engineering or similar

Minimum Years of Experience: 5 Years of Civil Engineering (or related) Experience

Job Description:
1. Direct and oversee the design and construction of the company's engineered window systems;
2. Review and control specific engineering details of aluminum extruded die profiles, overseeing where necessary to meet specific project requirements;
3. Liaise with selected manufacturers and international suppliers in support of the American customer base;
4. Approve the design technical aspects of the materials selected in conjunction with the selected manufacturer, and analyze engineering properties to ensure compliance with contract specifications;
5. Review drawings and fabrication sheets prepared by manufacturers and ensure they meet the engineering requirements for Reflection's window design systems;
6. Inspect project sites to monitor progress, fabrication techniques, and equipment used to ensure the conformance of design specifications, and that finished quality is maintained;
7. Manage manufacturing operations including: monitoring incoming materials to ensure they comply strictly with Reflection's engineering requirements and they meet acceptable quality, managing random check performances and reviews of the QA/QC procedures maintained by the manufacturers and reviewing weekly reports for submission to clients that summarize the production progress relative to schedules;
8. Direct and control in-house testing at the manufacturer's facility to ensure the completed product meets the system performance and engineering requirements of the contract;
9. Design and engineer custom window system updates and improvements to meet market needs and evolving stringent code requirements;
10. Involvement with Pre-construction/Sales department for new projects being pursued;
11. Generate proposal drawings for new projects being tendered, including development of new custom details/components that new projects demand;
12. Work with professional and/or structural engineering firms to obtain engineering computations, stamped calculations, ensure adherence to local code requirements for projects, etc.;
13. Review and comment on contract specifications for compliance and/or qualifications;
14. Attend technical meetings to discuss intending supply for a project, how it meets specifications or qualify accordingly;
15. Implement and lead new initiatives to standardize engineering processes, create standard procedures and documents for the engineering department to utilize;
16. Participate in the general management and strategic decision making for the company. Attend monthly senior management meetings and present a synopsis of status of the engineering department;
17. Manage director level individuals (subordinates) within the engineering department and provide general oversight to all employees within the department.
18. Assist in creating and preparing documents for patent filings.

Minimum Skills Required:
