Senior Project Engineer


Job Description:

Provide detailed cost estimates by calculating the scope of work using technical software, such as On Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Monday.com and CAD

 

Establish and maintain communication with general contractors and subcontractors throughout the bid process to understand and capture the scope of work

 

Manage online bid portals to receive and review construction plans and specification

 

Oversee bid proposals and flow of bid information between in-house project management and sales team

 

Liaise with design and project management team to establish required cost data

 

Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects and/or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops

 

Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures

 

Attend weekly meetings with project management on budget and time forecasts, value engineering, bid management, and specification improvement

 

Assist project managers with requests for information (RFI) and change orders

 

Attend corporate tradeshows and networking events to gain a presence in the industry while actively seeking new opportunities

 

Attend final bid meetings at Developer/GC offices as directed by the Director of Estimating

 

Travel to construction sites as needed to better understand the scope of details of projects

 

Train and work with other estimators to ensure company standards are maintained. Assist in documenting policies and procedures of the department

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Design Engineering or similar

 

MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

1 year of experience

 

MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:

(1) Provide detailed cost estimates by calculating the scope of work using technical software, such as On Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Monday.com and CAD; (2) Manage online bid portals to receive and review construction plans and specification; (3) Oversee bid proposals and flow of bid information between in-house project management and sales team.

 

TRAVEL:

Approximately 20% domestic travel to unanticipated client sites nationally

Salary:
